The statistics tell us 1 in 5 mums struggle with their mental health in the perinatal period but in reality we know it's even more common.
It can be hard to speak about these feelings, sometimes we feel ashamed or guilty, especially when we have been looking forward to becoming a parent and we are told to 'enjoy every moment'.
The reality is, having a baby is exhausting and trying to get it right can feel overwhelming.
It's important not to suffer in silence. If you can, speak to your partner, family and close friends. Tell your Health Visitor or GP. If this feels too hard or you feel it would be easier to talk to someone neutral who understands maternal mental health then please do get in touch.
At Maternal Mind, our mission is to provide unwavering support for mums in the perinatal period and beyond. We understand the challenges of motherhood and the impact it can have on mental health, self-esteem, and identity. Through our tailored programs and compassionate approach, we aim to support mums on a journey of self-discovery, self-awareness, and empowerment.
Sessions can be provided over phone, video call or, location depending, can be held in person.
Clients usually book blocks of sessions but all requests will be considered. I understand it can feel like stepping into the unknown plus babies are unpredictable so I aim to be as flexible as possible,
I offer a free 30 minute consultation where you tell me how you feel and we discuss the options so you can decide what support will be most helpful for you. Please contact me to arrange.
